Wow, so today was the big day. No more testing, it was time to let people see the site, and from what people have said, they like it! It’s good to have finally, properly launched the site, I’ve been tinkering with it for 2 weeks now, changing a bit here, and a bit there. But now it’s launched, the design is finished, the toons can begin… Awesome news.
If you want to do me the hugest favour, please tell your friends, family, pets, neighbours, aquaintances, hair dressers, flight attendants, parole officers etc about the site. Or use some internet magic and email, stumble, facebook, reddit etc the site. The more people that get to see the site, the better! Now, if you’ll excuse me, it’s almost 4am, and there’s a big bed, a warm duvet and film waiting for me.
Ok, so some of you have signed up to receive the far too cute toon updates via rss feed, which is great. But Spenser brought it to my attention that the rss icon for firefox users (the icon in the address bar) pointed to a different rss feed. It will still work, but it isn’t a feedburner feed so I won’t be able to get any statistics from it. I’ve now fixed it so that the icon now points to the feed burner feed. If anyone signed up to the old feed could you do me the hugest favour and sign up to the new one instead?
Thanks
Yup, check out the spiffy new social icons below each toon. You can now bookmark each toon in del.icio.us, stumble your favourites, post them to facebook, and even email them to your friend. Far too cute is poised to take over the world, with your help of course!
Big news here at far too cute. The project initially started as somewhere just to upload the random toons that I draw in my spare time. After last weeks launch however, and the success that the site has gained, getting a few hundred people come to the site mid week, I’ve decided to take the project to the next level, meaning I’m actually going to be doing doodling specifically for the site, as opposed to just finding toons to upload.
This will move the site from just a side project, to one of my main projects. In order to do the site justice, I need to grow the archives, which could potentially take a long time updating only twice a week; it would take a year to just get 100 single panel toons. With that in mind, for the next few months I will be changing the upload schedule, from two per week to… FIVE a week. That’s right, Monday through to Friday there will be an update here at far too cute.
So for the next three months you can come to the site and get a new comic every weekday, which will boost my archive to about 70 by the end of summer. Hope you guys enjoy the ride. See you Monday for the first of the daily updates.
The first of the weekday comics. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep the schedule! It’s looking good though, I have a weeks worth of buffer already loaded onto the site!
In other news, I want to shout out to all things kawaii, who have kindly added fartoocute to their kawaii directory. You should definitely go check it out.
Yes, now there’s more than just the daily strip here at far too cute, you get added sxtras added in free. Which makes sense I guess, since the toons are free too. Anyway, I’ve uploaded a bunch of 125×125 icons for you to use as avatars or what not. I’ll keep the list updated fairly regularly, so don’t forget to check back.
Love Far Too Cute? Love Facebook? Well know you can combine the two, get the latest Far Too Cute toon served straight to your profile! The brand spanking new Far Too Cute facebook application can be added right NOW! So get to it.
If you have any friends that also love the cute stuff, please let them know about the site, or indeed the application. Spread the cuteness.
I thought I had set the site to auto update with a bunch of toons. Instead of doing that, it did nothing. So, you get a whole bunch of new cuteness all at once. A weeks worth in fact! Thanks to Chami for pointing that out, otherwise it might have been another few days without updates!
I had an accident last week, I hit my head very hard on a low door frame. Woke up on the floor a few seconds later. Very messy business. Needless to say, it put me out of action for a few days - staring at a computer with a migraine turns out to not be a pleasant experience. But I’m all caught up on the cuteness now.
